L'atelier-boutique éphémère de la Cité du Cuir
Située dans le Limousin, sur la commune de Saint-Junien, la Cité du Cuir est un projet de portée nationale. Ses objectifs : préserver le savoir-faire ancestral de la ganterie tout en soutenant la filière régionale des métiers du cuir. Le site qui ouvrira en 2024 en bord de Vienne accueillera le grand public, mais aussi chercheurs, historiens et designers. La collectivité souhaite profiter de la forte affluence prévue lors des Ostensions du mois de juin pour parler du projet de la Cité du cuir de Saint-Junien, à la manière d'une avant-première. Elle investit donc un ancien un local commercial vacant en centre-ville pour y placer un espace qui sera à la fois un espace de présentation, un espace d'expérimentation, un espace de vente. De juin à août 2023, différents types de produits seront proposés à la vente et les visiteurs pourront s'essayer à la fabrication de petits objets en cuir. Le projet de la Cité du cuir sera lui aussi présenté au public.
